Teagan

I’d agreed to let Tristan take me to meet the alpha and it was a great plan. He drove along the winding roads and showed me sights along the way. When we pulled up to the territory there was a guard at the entrance that took Tristan’s information and plate number. We drove inside the gate and when we finally got to the house it was surprising to me to see it. This was more like a Mansion. There had been houses that lead up to the bigger house but nothing compared to it. It was Victorian and there were all kinds of scents all over the place. The further up the road that we drove the more people that walked toward the road. It was if they knew that there was someone new on the horizon and they needed to come to figure me out. I was a bit nervous but Mac had warned me that I needed to keep my fear to myself. They would be able to smell it a mile away. I knew that he was right and it was why I had left fear at home.

I got out of the truck when it came to a complete stop. Tristen got out with me and I looked around at each one of them not letting my gaze drop below theirs. I needed to keep the alpha female out and about the entire time, I was here. They all avoided my gaze and I knew that it was finally time to go. I headed inside where their alpha lay in bed with most of his body covered with a blanket. He looked ashen and I had to wonder what was wrong with him. I looked around the room and saw different medical supplies everywhere. As far as I knew, wolves didn’t get diseases.

“Who are you girl?”

I met his eyes and I replied without much thought. “Teagan from the Midwest Sullivan Pack.”

He stared at me for a while. When he was done assessing me and my gaze didn’t waver he nodded. “Rondell’s girl are you? Everybody thought that you’d been murdered. Where have you been all this time?”

I didn’t answer right away. I didn’t know if he was trustworthy. I looked at Tristan and he nodded. “My aunt was taking care of me.”

“Good. I didn’t know about you’re mating to my nephew until he was much older. Otherwise, I would have to take you with me when I came to rescue him.”

I looked over at Tristan. “I was staying with your pack when the raids happened. My uncle came to get me when I found out about the plan to eradicate your family. He didn’t have any dealings with the pack but he knew that I was there. He came to get me and we came here where he was leading a smaller pack that has outgrown most in the area.”

I nodded. “Where are your parents?”

“They are on a different plane. They are being held captive by the head houses.
